When Trinity Logistics needed a solution for commonly sheared bolts and fasteners for farm tractors and implements in the field, Fapco came up with the Trinity Tackle Box.
In agricultural products there are bolts and fasteners that commonly shear or are made to shear when under stress to prevent damage to more critical parts. To prevent a long walk back to the barn or service shed, farmers needed a solution they could carry with them in the field.
“It’s a tool kit that basically would slide under a tractor or combine seat,” says Fapco President, Larry Gardiner, “There’s all the components right there in the box — the right wrench, bolts, nuts, washers — for the most common replacement parts. In this way, the farmer can do the replacement in the field and not require someone to pick them up in the field or disrupt their work day.”
Tracking replacement fastener orders per model, Trinity provided Fapco with the contents of each box to match each model of farm tractor, combine or implement with the most common parts that fail.
“They have templates, about six or seven, depending on what model you have,” says Gardiner. “We insert a card that has a guide on it to define what fastener is in each compartment of the tackle box. Kind of like the guide you would see on an assorted box of candy.”
